| While undersized in todays college football at 5-foot-8 Smoot shows the desire to be nasty and place his nose in the middle of a play. Has great body control and ability to make the tackle but lack the size many look for. If he was taller he would be holding several offers. |

| While a tad on the short side, Ryan Smoot makes up for it with great athletic ability. A major part of Columbus (OH)Africentric High Schools program since his freshman year, Smoot will be one of the players to keep an eye out for during his senior season. |
