Illini Get Tourney Title In Defensive Battle

Mike Tisdale (Holly Birch)		By Jack Lyman InsideIllini.com staff Date: Nov 29, 2008 The Fighting Illini basketball team overcame a tough Tulsa defense and its own poor shooting to win the South Padre Island Tournament Saturday night, 48-44. Mike Tisdale was named Most Valuable Player as he scored the final two buckets of the game. Illinois is now 6-0 on the season as it continues to find ways to pull out close games at the end.
