The “old” knock on Illinois’ head coach Bruce Weber was that he was a masterful X’s and O’s guy but didn’t get the breaks when it came to recruiting. That’s all changed now. After going 16-19 last season, Illinois fans will soon again have something to cheer about. Check out ESPN’s 2009 Top 10 class.

1. North Carolina

2. ILLINOIS – D.J. Richardson, Tyler Griffey, Brandon Paul and Joseph Bertrand

3. Georgetown

4. Louisville

5. UAB

6. Connecticut

7. Florida

8. Kansas State

9. Michigan State

10. Purdue

Some of these schools may add more players to their class, but also note - the Big Ten has two other schools represented: Michigan State and the Purdue Boilermakers.
