Guard to miss 4-6 weeks

Shooting guard Jamar Smith who scored a team high 19 points last night suffered a high ankle sprain in his left ankle.

Not only will Coach Bruce Weber be without shooting guard Rich McBride, the Illini will miss shooting guard Jamar Smith for 4-6 weeks Weber said today at his press conference.

Last night the Illini played host to Austin Peay beating them 80-35 in Assembly Hall, Smith led all scores last night with 19 points on who shot 7-for-10 on the night, including 5-for-8 from behind the arc.

An update on Smith later as we find out more on the injury and how severe it is. By losing Smith this will play a major role in Weber's rotation for the upcoming games.
