Brown & Augustine Drafted in 2006 NBA Draft

Wednesday night's NBA Draft marked the official end of the Illinois careers for James Augustine and Dee Brown as they now discovered their new teams. Augustine was selected first when his named was called at #41 by Russ Granik. Dee Brown had to wait a little longer, but at #46 he found out he would be joining former Illini Deron Williams in Utah.

Heading into Wednesday night's draft there was some thought that both Dee Brown and James Augustine might be able to sneak into the first round in the right situation, but that did not happen.

With the 41st pick in the NBA Draft, the Orlando Magic selected James Augustine. Augustine was the second member of the Magic's draft class, and he will be joining former Duke shooting guard JJ Redick who the Magic selected with the 11th pick in the first round.

Dee Brown had to wait a little longer, but if he makes the Utah team, he will have a familiar partner in the backcourt, Deron Williams. Dee was the second player Utah selected in the 2006 NBA Draft, and he will join Arkansas' Ronnie Brewer (No. 14) and Louisiana Tech's Paul Millsap (No. 47) as the members of the Utah Jazz draft class of 2006.
