Derrick Jasper the 6-foot-4 1/2 senior from California will play his college basketball in the SEC.

Derrick Jasper class of 2006 visited Illinois last weekend for his last unofficial visit, a phone call earlier in the week by Illiniboard.com Kedric Prince spoke with his mother about the visit. “He really liked it at Illinois, he had a great time.”

According to sources, if Jasper will work on his overall game he has all the right tools to play in the NBA. Last season this smooth guard averaged 21 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.

When Jasper left Champaign things appeared to look good for Illinois, but Jasper had a change of heart.

Jasper picked Kentucky over Illinois, Washington and Memphis.
