Despite the departure of his recruiter and former Illinois offensive line coach A.J. Ricker, Oseland is still very much considering Illinois and made the trip back to Champaign along with Illinois commit and close friend Gabe Megginson to see the campus again and ultimately meet and talk to new offensive line coach Tom Brattan.
"The visit was pretty good," Oseland said. "I went with Gabe actually."
Oseland had spoken with Brattan on the phone, but Wednesday gave him a chance to sit down and speak face to face with the new coach.
"This was actually my first time talking with him in person," he said. "He's an east coast guy and he's got a lot of football knowledge."
Right now, Oseland still plans to announce his college decision prior to his senior season. How he will do that is still up in the air. Illinois, Oklahoma State, and Minnesota have gotten the most mention with him as of late, but he doesn't want to tip his hand too much.
He said jokingly, "Everybody's in the running. I might wild card it and 'eenie, meenie, minie, moe' it."
All humor aside, Oseland has a lot of thinking to do over the next couple of weeks, with a decision anticipated to come sometime in the middle of August.
And for Illinois fans, this visit has to be encouraging news.
At least they hope this ends up being true:
