Brunson Recaps Illinois Visit

Jalen Brunson headed down to Champaign to see the University of Illinois first-hand on Monday. See what he had to say about his time on campus.

Stevenson 2015 point guard Jalen Brunson is one of the Illini's top targets. He visited campus on Monday and spoke with us about why he made the trip to Champaign.

"Mostly it was for my dad," he said. "He has never been down there so it was like a tour for him and how things worked down there. Also just to talk to coach in person."

Jalen says his dad was impressed with Head Coach John Groce and Illinois.

"He knows he is great guy and coach," Jalen said. "He Likes his system."

While the coaches spoke with Brunson's father, Rick, Jalen talked with current players Kendrick Nunn, Rayvonte Rice, and Tracy Abrams about campus life.

"They just talked about how life was and a typical day with classes and practice," he said.

Brunson has been on campus a few times now and it is getting further into the process. On this visit he was really focused on furthering the people and things he knew about the University already.

"Mostly just gain a better relationships with players and coaches mainly," he said.

Brunson told us when he is looking to set up his official visits.

"Maybe in August not sure yet."
