Donovonn Young's career at Illinois has concluded.
The rising senior running back has decided to transfer, according to a report by the Chicago Tribune.
The 6-foot, 220-pound Houston, Texas native's role in the offense diminished as tailback Josh Ferguson became a featured player in coordinator Bill Cubit's plans.
Young led the team in rushing as a sophomore in 2012, gaining 571 yards and three touchdowns on 131 carries. This season, his totals dropped, finishing with 376 yards and three scores on 93 attempts.
Fumbles became an issue and in seven games he rushed eight times or fewer.
It's unclear where Young intends to play next. Multiple attempts to reach Young were unsuccessful.
