CHAMPAIGN - Illinois fell 11 spots to No. 23 in the latest Associated Press poll, released Monday.
The Illini (14-4) suffered it's worst run of the season last week, falling to Minnesota and Wisconsin by a combined 40 points.
Prior to the recent ranking, the Illini spent five straight weeks in the Top 12, climbing as high as No. 10 after defeating Gonzaga Dec. 8.
A home date with rival Northwestern (Jan. 17) and a visit to Nebraska (Jan. 22) are next up for the Illini, who are tied for eighth in the Big Ten with a 1-3 conference record.
