Freshman guard Sanjay Lumpkin was finally a full participant for Northwestern. Now, he'll return to the sidelines.
Lumpkin suffered a wrist injury, a Northwestern spokesperson confirmed to PurpleWildcats. The injury's extent is currently unknown.
Lumpkin missed the Wildcats' first four games of the season with mononucleosis. He returned to action in the South Padre Island Invitational, but has yet to see a heavy dose of playing time.
With senior forward Drew Crawford out for the season with a shoulder injury, Lumpkin was to help fill the void. Now, Northwestern's bench just became thinner.
Northwestern opens the conference schedule with No. 2 Michigan, then travels to play No. 11 Minnesota just three days later.
