Diggs Hitting the Radar

The recruiting world is about to find out more and more about Downers Grove (Ill.) North's athletic junior linebacker Vontae Diggs.

Vontae Diggs is a fast, athletic 6'4, 200-lb junior who returned two kickoffs for touchdowns this season in addition to his defensive duties.

"I play outside linebacker and defensive end," he explained. "I play an all purpose role on the team. Wherever I'm needed, that's where they put me. This year, I made All-Conference and All-Area."

Right now, Diggs is hearing from a Big Ten school.

"Illinois. They did a school visit, they were just there. They came here last week."

The number of schools interested should steadily increase, especially because Diggs is planning on improving his game and profile.

"I'm working with Core 6. I'm hoping they will help develop me to become a more explosive player and improve my football I.Q. For the college camps, I hope to be able to go out there and compete with the rest of the kids."

He also will be participating in a couple of other sports, which will translate to the football field as well.

"I run track and also wrestle. I do the 100, 200, high jump, sometimes the relays."
