Matt Domer, a 6'0, 185-lb running back from Chicago Mt. Carmel had a good sophomore season and is off to a fast start this year. That has resulted in interest from a number of schools and a first offer coming in recently.
"I got a few letters," he said. "I got my first offer from Northern Illinois this past weekend and just keep waiting for more. I've gotten stuff from Minnesota, Illinois, and Florida State just sent me one. Those are the ones off the top of my head."
Over the summer, Domer had a chance to camp with several schools, and one in particular, showed him some extra attention.
"I've been to Minnesota, Northwestern, Cincinnati, and then NIU. At Minnesota, I got feedback. They took me around said they want to see the first three games of the season and get back to me. The other two, I didn't get as much."
While Domer admits to being "a little bit" surprised an offer came this year, his talent warranted the honor, and he is hoping that it is only the beginning.
"It's the first one. Hopefully there will be many more to come. I'm just looking forward to any school possible so I can have a selection when I finally make my selection but at least it's off to a great start."
