Redskins cut Neil Rackers

The Washington Redskins cut former Houston Texans kicker Neil Rackers, sticking with Graham Gano. The Redskins also reached an injury settlement with cornerback Morgan Trent. Now, Rackers and former Ravens Pro Bowl kicker Billy Cundiff, who was cut Sunday, are the top two available free agent kickers.

Rackers 35, connected on 32 of 38 field goals last season, including 4 of 5 on attempts of 50 yards or more.

Gano, 25, made 24 of 31 field goals last season for a 75.6 percent success rate. For his career, Rackers has made 83.2 percent of his field goal tries and has scored 1,033 points.

Rackers has also kicked for the Cincinnati Bengals and the Arizona Cardinals.

Two seasons ago, Rackers made 27 of 30 field goals (90 percent) for the Texans.

In his final season with Arizona in 2009, he made 16 of 17 field goals (84.1 percent.

In 2005, Rackers made 40 of 42 field goals and every extra point for a career-high 140 points for the Cardinals.
