Ohio Receiver Wilson Focused On Three

Cameron Wilson (Ryan Easterling)

While many high school football prospects are contemplating offers from multiple schools, others have settled on a short list. Ohio receiver Cameron Wilson appears to fall into the latter category. He has had a top three for quite awhile now, and Illinois is one of those.

Cameron Wilson has ten scholarship offers, but his interest in three colleges has dominated his thinking. He visited each this spring.

"I've only been to Boston College, Illinois and Iowa this spring. Those are my top three schools."

Does the Dublin, Ohio, product anticipate any other schools coming forth with offers in the near future?

"I don't really know. I'm talking to Tennessee a lot. That's about it."

It appears Wilson is content with his three main schools. They may be the only ones he visits this summer.

"I plan to visit Illinois, Iowa and Boston in June. Maybe more, but I haven't settled anything yet."

Most if not all of Wilson's camp work this summer will be with his Jerome High School team.

"My team will be going to some 7 on 7's. We had football camp this past week. I probably won't be going to any football camps. I may go to Ohio State's camp, I haven't decided yet."

Is he growing tired of the recruiting process?

"A little bit, but it's so cool. I just want to come to a decision pretty soon. Most likely, I'll make my decision at the end of summer."

Wilson says he is looking at a college's atmosphere, its coaches and people. In that regard, Illini assistant coach Jeff Brohm has made a favorable impression.

"I like Coach Brohm a lot. He's a real good guy. He's real good to talk to. He always tells me positive things about Illinois."

The 6'-2" receiver/safety devoted his spring to physical development in preparation for his senior season.

"I didn't play any sport this spring. I just worked out. I weigh 193 now."

Living in a Columbus suburb has given Wilson a bird's eye view of the turmoil at Ohio State.

"Everyone's upset about it. Everybody loved Coach (Jim) Tressel. People are tearing down the players and everything, blaming Terrelle Pryor and stuff. It isn't easy right now."
